Grow the game is appropriate for anyone wanting to play hockey from age 4 to 14.

Equipment Required
Full hockey equipment is required to step on the ice. Equipment can be loaned on a first come first serve basis
Costs
There are none! This is purely a free event to allow anyone to try out hockey!
Try Hockey for Free 2026
The Southeastern CT Seahawks are excited to invite all young, aspiring hockey players to the Norwich Ice Rink on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 8 - 9 am, for a Try Hockey for Free session!
This event is the perfect chance for kids to step on the ice, learn the basics of hockey, skate alongside some of our Seahawks players, and—most importantly—have a TON of fun! Whether your child is brand new to hockey or just curious about the sport, this is a relaxed, high-energy introduction designed just for them.
With the Winter Olympics right around the corner, there’s no better time to discover what makes hockey such an exciting sport!
No gear? No problem! We’ll have equipment available to borrow so your child can jump right in.
Also feel free to stay after this program to watch some of our teams play!
