Southeastern Connecticut Seahawks Youth Hockey
2026–2027 Program Guide
Building Skills, Character, and a Love for the Game
The Southeastern Connecticut Seahawks Youth Hockey (SECYH) organization is dedicated to fostering, promoting, and developing the game of youth hockey throughout Southeastern Connecticut. Our mission is to provide a safe, positive, and competitive environment where players can develop athletic skills, learn teamwork, demonstrate good sportsmanship, and cultivate a lifelong passion for hockey.
SECYH offers development and competitive programs for players of all skill levels, from first-time skaters to experienced travel players. Whether your child is stepping onto the ice for the first time or preparing for state-bound competition, our programs are designed to promote skill development, confidence, teamwork, and personal growth both on and off the ice.
Development Pathway
Our development pathway allows players to progress at their own pace while building the skills and confidence necessary to advance within the sport.
Grow the Game Events
Throughout the year, SECYH hosts free "Grow the Game" events that introduce new players and families to hockey. Equipment is available to borrow, allowing participants to experience hockey before committing to a full-season program. Registration is required through the SECYH website.
Learn to Skate
Learn to Skate programs, offered by the RoseGarden Ice Arena, provide the foundation for every successful hockey player. SECYH strongly encourages all new players to learn basic skating skills before beginning hockey-specific instruction.
Learn to Play Hockey (Jr. Rangers)
The Jr. Rangers Learn to Play program is an ideal next step for players who have developed basic skating abilities and are interested in learning hockey fundamentals. Equipment is included with tuition, making it an excellent introduction to organized hockey.
