posted 01/06/2010 SECYH Float at the East Lyme Light Parade in December
A special thanks goes out to all our volunteers that helped make this happen. Major contributors were Bill Vorra and Carl Desaulnier for construction, which took many hours. Many others also stepped up with assistance: Mark and Kristen Huta (painting, finishing touches, material for the base and getting many of the Mites to participate), Donna Bednar and Peter Cornelius (banners), Carolyn Yapchanik (Candy for the kids to toss), Mark Collins (float design), Keith Tower and Leslie Hawley (Paint) and Dan Dean (painting). And close friend Ron Helbig for the use of his truck to drive the float.
It turned out to be a great evening weather wise and it was a lot of fun and a great memory for those who were able to participate. The kids will be sure to remember.
There were also many families in attendance from the Mites, a family from Learn-to-Play on roller-blades, the Bradleys, the Ogdens, the Desaulnier's, the Huta's, the Ford's...
If anyone hears of any other upcoming parades this year the float can be borrowed. We will also reuse the banners for other SECYH events.
