Bernie Cassell Pre-season Conditioning Clinics
by posted 08/21/2010

Seahawks,

Bernie Cassell and the Norwich Rink will be offering a 2-session, Pre-season conditioning clinic taking place on Aug 31st and Sept 2nd. Please follow the link for your player’s appropriate clinic.

Birth Year 2000-2003

Birth Year 1996-1999

Many of you have taken advantage of Bernie’s professional instruction over the summer by attending his very popular and successful week long camps and single-day clinics. If you want to get a jump on the season I encourage you to register with The Norwich Rink as we wind down from the summer break.

The Rink has also scheduled a Youth Stick-time on 8/28 from 4:10-6 PM, $10 per person. Parents (helmet & gloves required) are welcome to take to the ice with your player. They will section the ice off so parents can work with the kids ay one end while a scrimmage is at the other end of the ice.

Players fees and Payment Schedule
by posted 08/18/2010

I wish to again welcome everyone to the upcoming 2010-2011 hockey season. We have finalized the players fees for the season and the payment schedule is outlined below.

The player fees paid by the membership cover the cost associated with ice time, uniforms, referees and insurance. That being said player fees do not cover 100% of our costs and would be higher if it were not for the generous donations from local businesses and individuals that support our program.

As a reminder SECYH does support a Sponsorship Program where players, who choose to participate in the program, solicit area businesses for sponsorships. A portion of the money collected from the sponsors will be applied directly to the player’s fee while the remainder of the money will be used to help fund the SECYH program. Participation in this voluntary program can allow players to significantly reduce their fees. Although this has been minimally leveraged in the past it is another option we all should explore. Please contact or our Candy Vorra, for more details.

The SECYH Tuition Schedule for the 2010-11 season has been set as follows:

Team Total Fee Due Registration Fee (Due 05/01) Installment 1

(player tuition fee does not include the $40 USA Hockey & CHC Registration Fee paid at time of online registration)

In the next few days we will be updating the system with the fee schedules at which time the system will accept online payments. Payments can then be done directly via credit card on the Seahawk Website. In the near future we will be adding the option to use PayPal which promises some additional flexibility when scheduling your player fees. Checks may be dropped in the SECYH drop box at The Rink. Please do not deposit cash into the box or give any payments to rink personnel. Cash is not the preferred method of payment and therefore every effort should be made to use CC or check. Finally, checks may also be mailed to: SECYH Registrar, 50 Westminister Rd, Baltic, CT 06330

Please ensure timely payment of fees as they are required for continued on-ice participation of your player.

Thank you and we all look forward to seeing you all at the rink!

Goalie Opening - Full-Season Midget Team
by posted 07/12/2010

The SECYH Full-Season Midget team currently has an opening for a goaltender for the upcoming 2010-11 season. Although not a requirement, the full-season team is comprised mostly of players who do not have access to a High School hockey team and has 15 players currently registered.  From September to March they compete against teams from the CT Valley Midget Hockey League, CHC Split-Season Midget teams and NEMHL teams. In recent years they have also participated in tournaments in Montreal, Philadelphia and Lake Placid. In '09-10 they were the Division 2 CVMHL Champions and the Division 1 Champions in '08-09. Goaltender specific instruction is provided by Head Coach and former Canadian Junior Hockey league goalie, Ed Collette.

If you or anyone you know would like more information please contact me at
or visit our website at www.secyh.org
